Warm weather, blue skies, palm trees, and a gorgeous all inclusive resort. The Dominican Republic is the perfect backdrop for a wedding! I can finally check “shoot a destination wedding” off the bucket list!! When Sarah contacted me about being the photographer for her wedding destination wedding in the Dominican Republic, my heart literally started racing. This was a once in a lifetime opportunity that I couldn’t pass up- such a magical place to get married.

Wedding week finally arrived and my husband and I hopped on a plane out of Nashville to the Dominican Republic. When we arrived at the resort, it took my breath away. BEAUTIFUL. Everyone at the resort was so kind as they helped us take our bags to our room and get settled in.

The next morning was wedding day! The weather was so nice. Not too humid, the sun was shining, and there was a slight breeze. When I arrived at the bridal suite the energy in the room was so fun! Everyone seemed happy and excited that it was their best friend's wedding day. Sarah’s bridesmaids were the kind of people you want to have by your side on your wedding day. They were very helpful, such a great support system, and they made sure her day was flawless. We took some photos of the girls in their robes on the bed and then Sarah’s mom helped her get into her dress.

John’s face was priceless when he turned around to look at his bride for the first time. They shared a sweet moment together as they read the notes they had written to each other.  Since we were at an all inclusive resort, it was so easy to find beautiful backdrops for photos.

Wedding party photos were quite the adventure! Finding a space large enough for all 25 people in the bridal party was a bit of a challenge, but we made it work! For one of the photos, the groomsmen threw John up into the air a couple times and and he got so high! It ended up being one of my favorite photos of the day!

The ceremony was held under a beautiful gazebo on the resort property underneath palm trees. It was so sweet watching John get emotional as he watched his bride walk down the bridge towards him. After the ceremony, the entire wedding party crowded around the newly married couple and started cheering while the bride and groom kissed and drank champagne. It was such a sweet moment watching them soak it all in. We did a bubble send off as the guests started heading to the reception.

After a few more photos on the beach, we headed to the reception where Sarah and John danced the night away with their closest friends and family members. This day was a dream and I am so thankful to have been a part of it. Congrats Mr. and Mrs. Jackson!
